别看如今的杰克（蒂姆·艾伦 Tim Allen 饰）肚大腰圆，他可是曾经为政府所雇佣的超能力秘密特工，当年，为了消灭人类最强大的敌人“激进派”，杰克不仅失去了他的战友们，同时也失去了自身的超能力。军队放弃了再也没有利用价值的杰克，后者则过上了梦寐以求的正常人的生活。二十多年后的今天，当“激进派”分子再一次蠢蠢欲动的时候，军队再度的找到了杰克，这一回，他将扮演一个十分特殊和重要的角色。 杰克的任务是教导四个个性极其顽劣的的孩子，教他们如何正确使用和控制各自强大的超能力。对于杰克来说，这四个孩子可比曾经所遇见的所有敌人加在一起都要难对付的多，年事已高的他能够顺利的完成任务吗？
